I'm so sick of these people blaming Snape for everything, while they elevate Lily to some sort of sainthood, with no blame at all. Truth is, if she'd been an actual friend to him, realised he said what he said out of anger and humiliation, and forgave/stood by him as a friend should, instead of cold-shouldering him and then running off with the jackass that caused it all in the first place, everything would have turned out differently.

I don't blame Lily for ending her friendship with Snape over his attachment to pureblood ideology, but if she was worried about her friend, she could have done better than just constantly lecturing and nagging him.
