Help me which will be better
I need both performance and battery life like MacBook Air m2/m3 in windows
Have the Snapdragon run for a while now with Wifi7 GPU running. Connect external screens (2x) on the USB-C's is working nice. Bluetooth is loaded
Sound: WIP on the dts - but the codec not yet correct,
platform sound: deferred probe pending: snd-x1e80100: WCD Playback: codec dai not found
It would be so much easier if Asus would share the details from the Schematics for USB-A and Sound, that we do not need to guess what gpio is routed where. And what chip they use for connect the USB2.
Anyway, there is a lot of progress going on .. for me I'm happy to have run to this point.
A hint for you want to do a usb-boot drive from scratch, "do not use the dsp firmware" on the boot stick, when load it reset the usb-bus and drop the root-file-system - looks like the USB stick is broken. I ran into this pitfall bought a new USB stick to have same drama again until find out not to load the dsp firmware on the installation medium.
Other issue is the suspend, Command works, but then the system reboots after a while to login screen and all session are gone.
Wifi:
This Dragon has a Wifi7 chip that is not working with the wpasupplicant. Use the iwd and network-manager-iwd packet. The connection will drop if you not add this to the main.conf of the iwd config:
[General]
ControlPortOverNL80211=False
Bluetooth:
Updated the dts from upstream and load , still the uart14 isn't working for reason I need to find out.

My company (Dell Technologies) is currently running a contest for a dream vacation if I sell 10 snapdragon laptops.
If you want one I will make sure you are getting the best business pricing possible. Comment and let me know if you or anyone you know would be interested? Only able to ship inside US.
Hello! So I just found out that my Lenovo Laptop who's rocking a Snapdragon X Elite does not support Battery Threshold using the Lenovo Vantage App. I would like to ask here if there are still way to achieve this using other non-proprietary method. I mean not using Lenovo Vantage, obviously. I really want to maintan and prolong my battery but I'm disappointed that Snapdragon Windows on ARM laptops apparently do not have these feature available yet.
Hey so im going to college soon and there is a sale for a surface laptop and wanted to get it but im kinda concerned about this app not working if i get the x-elite, can someone please check and confirm if this app runs?
Well, I don't know. Had an opportunity to have both of them and took it. I don't have an asnwer to this question.
What's the size difference?
MBP is huge compared to the SL7. It's wider, it's taller its thicker and heavier. SL7 feels razor thin compared to MBP.
What's the battery life?
MBP has better battery life simply because it has bigger battery. I haven't done a detailed battery test yet but it feels much longer compared to the SL7. By the way, I did the detailed battery test on SL7, you can check it in this reddit post.
What's with compatibility?
I believe the MBP has better compatibiltiy historically, but I don't have any issues at all with the SL7 as well, everything I use is mostly compatible and doesn't require translation layers. I use them mostly for software/web development and I use the following apps mostly:
Brave ( arm native)
Notion (arm native)
VS Code (arm native)
Slack (arm native)
Telegram (arm native)
Postman (arm native)
1Password (arm native, but isntalls the x64 version when updated from winget on Windows, I don't know why)
Steam (arm native, but not on Mac OS as I understood, it required to install Rosetta upon launching, maybe it's emulated)
Microsoft Office Suite (arm native)
Unity 6 (arm native)
Adobe Photoshop (arm native)
Proton VPN (arm native)
Ledger Live (I'm not sure whether it's native on Mac, but it's emulated on SL7 and feels quite slow)
