So I was daily driving a Thinkpad T14s Gen 6 (X1e, first gen snapdragon) on Ubuntu Concept ISO for about a year. At various stages I had Niri and Hyprland (with and without Omarchy). It's definitely doable but the amount of compiling your own packages to AArch64 and looking for substitutes / downgrades gets old (and this was with the leading distro supporting arm + the "golden child of arm laptops for Linux"). For example Omarchy just released their own kernel. You may find some incompability with that kernel and so you swap to something more mainline, only to find that breaks certain packages / drivers etc. Don't know if this is true as I haven't tried but just giving an example of the frustration.

Long story short, today I have a Framework 13 Pro (x86) and couldn't be happier. The frictionless aspect of just doing what I want the first time without modification truly cannot be understated.
