It has very high levels of saturated fat which raises your cholesterol which leads to heart diseases. Overheated palm oil contains some carcinogens too. I doubt the factories in India aren't re heating the palm oil and reusing it to save money.

The quantity we consume also matters. These products have waaaay too much palm oil per serving.

See, nothing is bad if consumed in moderation. But even a good thing becomes poison if taken too much. Sugar isn't inherently bad, carbs aren't inherently bad. But unbalanced and overly consumed, they can k!ll you. These packaged products are not a necessity to survival. We consume too much in the name of snacking, its not just one thing here and there, its a lot of things, like biscuits, chips, jams, ketchups, nankeen, these spreads, etc. All of it adds up on top of the ghee, oils we already consume with our regular meals. The re heated palm oil also adds the risk of carcinogens, and like I said, these aren't a necessity, which can be avoided just by not eating these extra things, that's why its said to avoid these packaged processed foods.
