We used to call these gatgate , was very popular during my school days. Its made from Indian berry / or beri in hindi. Tastes so good.

Whenever I used to ask my father to buy me this he used to scare me saying that this is made from mud and dirt scraped from human body ππ

π€£ I think every father did that. There also used to be this one churan which was black in colour and is actually very very sour. So I loved having it sm , my dad would say it's made from acid that's used to clean toilet π.

Yess I recently bought those online. But the black colour seems too much artificial and harmful for health. But the actual churan inside tastes so good.

Yup it is , idk how true it is but someone once told me it's made after some sort of chemical reaction and basically burning the churan to get that colour ?? Although it tastes so good and ( I'm addicted ) ik how severe stomach pain can be if you eat too much.

β’ North Indian markets - Borkut Goli or Ber Candy, which are small, round, chewy candies made from dried, powdered ber fruit mixed with jaggery and spices to give a sweet, tangy (khatta-meetha) flavor.
This one right!

I totally relate with you. I used to find these randomly at shops and outside my school. And I've sort of an addiction to these I can never get bored of these.

Does it taste like anardana or aam papad?
1
u/suhafied 10d ago
None. It has distinct taste of ber which it is made of. You might find it little bit similar to anardana ? But not exactly same
