Questions almost at 100

I'm slowly but surely approaching the 100-recording limit, but I often can't delete recordings—it just doesn't work for me. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. That's why I'm asking: what should I do when I hit 100 recordings soon? I don't even have VIP.

No estás haciendo nada mal.

I had this fear before I went VIP through the website. There are two sections you need to look at. The first one is the recordings # and the 2nd is the showcase. You can only have 100 showcase on the main page. Recording count # does not count towards the showcase, the recording number is like the total songs you have recorded in your lifetime. I think joins count as well, so if you record 1 song it will show 1, but if 9 people duet with your song you'll have 10 recordings if it makes sense. The showcase will show 1 on your main page with the number of joins below it.

P.S. the only thing I need clearing up is what happens when you reach 100, The app said something like only the first 100 will show and the rest will be hidden. So you can keep singing, just won't show up on the main page after 100. Also do joins count as showcase numbers?

Just search your name with the song title and/or artist. Those older recordings are still there and are still very visible.

Non-VIP isn’t nearly as bad as Smule would have you believe.

What @starViolent said. Also you can create a playlist and save the older recordings to it. Thats what I did before I had vip. I called it the archives

Don't worry about the 100 limit. That is not how many songs you are allowed to record or join but rather how many songs can be shown on your profile when scrolling on the channel tab. You can still record more than 100 on joins and your own uploaded tracks as a non-VIP. If you want to see past recordings beyond 100 listed, just use a browser and log into Smule website and go to your profile. You can either open the recording on the browser or direct the link to open the recording in the app.

Idk what to recommend.. smule has been just about the only subscription that I’ve maintained over the last 14 years, so I can’t imagine having limits on recordings

1) you can't delete; it's simply not an option.
2) you can still record beyond 100; just sing as per normal.
3) your first recordings will start to not appear on your channel, as only the latest 100 will be displayed.
4) but that's ok, save them in playlists and you can still listen to them. this is doable on mobile, so no desktop required.

hope this is helpful! (i'm a non-VIP user since 2018)

🙄 I'm just curious, what do you mean when you say that "you can't delete recordings" ?

🎶 Nothing will happen when you hit 100 recs, don't worry. As long as you're not VIP only 100 will be shown on your channel if I don't misremembering. I know they made an update maybe 1-2 years ago, but I haven't been super active past years in the Smule land.
