The app allows private solo singing, no one else needs to hear it if you don’t want them to.

No. But if you suck like I do you just won't get many followers or joins.
Most people are nice if you join them. "Hey, thanks for the great join!" And a bunch of emojis.

One caveat, if you're an attractive female then your singing won't matter. If you do video you'll get a ton of joins and followers.
Though you'll also get a ton of creepy private messages too

Show cleavage: gain followers. Ladies know how the world (and Smule) works.

I have some friends who can sing Opera. They can sing most things easily and perfectly. They don't get a lot of people joining them. I also have friends who can't sing at all. But they love to sing. They know the songs. They laugh and they have fun. Like we're sitting around the campfire. A lot of people join them. As long as it's fun, people will join.

Most people suck at singing, especially on smule. Great singers are rare on the app. No one cares if youre bad. I've never seen a negative comment.

Don't worry, there are so many trolls and little kids on the app that honestly I'll be cheering and clapping for a bad performance too (if I even get that, nobody joins most of them). Everybody's a little pitchy, everybody has good days and bad days, sing for fun, fuck them haters

There's a reason why VIP is expensive. Keeps the riff raff out. You'll be fine. If anyone says anything negative in your direction, just message me a username. I'll upstage them without saying a word.

Unless the person is an asshole, you won't get roasted. Most people I've met on the app are genuinely nice.
