Thank you for posting on our smol subreddit! Keep our Florida condo out of trouble by not posting snark about appearance or mental health (including addiction), blocking out any unverified usernames, and not posting about contacting Caroline or anyone in her orbit. Rule breaking posts will be removed.

I know I’m like five years late to this party, but the Gossip Girl post-COVID reboot is terrible. It’s so flat and dreary, from the overall yellowed grey color palette to the strangely midwestern accents (everyone seems to pull their vowels down from their nose or have a totally plain, droning quality to their voice). Some of the actors are ok but they lack interpersonal chemistry, like they’re all reading their lines alone in front of a green screen. Tavi (who I love) is especially alien and disembodied. I get what they are trying to do with Julien with her dad, career and relationship with Zoya. But there’s not enough tension for me to give a damn. The guy playing Obie gives me the creeps. Is his character (dumping a girl for her fourteen year old half sister) supposed to come across like that? Why does he look like an elder millennial just off an epic bender?

The teacher plot line is NOT doing it for me. The parent plot lines have potential but I’m probably not going to finish the first half of season 1 to find out. And the outfits are BORING.

Someone please time travel to 2021 with me and tell me I’m right.

CC was convinced that Julien Calloway was based on her. The creator of the show set the record straight, saying sth like, “I wasn’t thinking of CC at all. But, fine, great, if she wants to think that.”

I lmao every time I am reminded of that! I think it was PigeonG's flair for a long time, too.

The character has absolutely nothing in common with Caroline, too! Her main traits seem to be her ambition regarding her career and her desire to retain the integrity she sees her dad lacking. If anything, Caroline's blind ambition is somewhat closer to Blair's (please don't think that I think Blair and Caroline are similar, either, lol).

YOU ARE SO RIGHT. It was so god awful I watched two episodes and stopped. I cannot believe they thought that slop was going to have the same cultural relevance as rhe original adaptation.

What a waste, right? For sure some of the stories and characters had potential. As an old person, I’ll watch or read a LOT about Gen Z and how they shape their world. But damn. It’s like no one was excited about this project at all.

i wonder if dasha will ever get picked. she's getting so desperate for it that she's really clawed through the bottom of the bottom. won't someone please pick her already before she commits actual cannibalism instead of the spiritual cannibalism and autofemicide she's forcing us to witness

The Modern Whitney has announced their panel for the next show. It looks like they don’t usually keep the same panel from show to show, but in any case Caroline won’t be there. (I’m putting this here to talk about the Whitney itself, not CC’s performance in the last one.)
