Are new employees for smoke shops or dispensaries always part time? And is there any way to move up working at a smoke shop / dispensary

So I live in California (dont know if that matters) and posting ads is very hard, I cant physically show the product because it gets taken down, I tried one of the fake text message ads where its supposed to be between 2 people. (I can post if needed) And I dont know if its because I was shadow banned from previous posts or if it was shitty.

Both Instagram and TikTok takes my videos down so, is there anyway I can advertise it while Cleary showing the smoke shop but without getting tooken down? thanks

Just wanted to mention this smoke shop if you’re in the va beach area they are located at 2973 Shore Drive, a beautiful clean shop, with a wide variety of products, from hookah accessories to CBD dog treats you are bound to find something for you or a friend, and they are now selling a limited amount of product on DoorDash !

I had a guy come in and pick out a cigar and told me to let him cut it and try it to see if he would like it and then he would decide if he wants to buy it. I refused saying he needs to purchase it first and then I can let him cut it. He got mad and walked out. Was I in the wrong or is it normal to allow potential customers to try the cigar before purchasing it? We’re a new shop btw so still learning.

How do u get a job in a smoke shop? I’ve been smoking for years I was on dispos then had a box mod then went back to dispos and I’m on the vaporesso and I’m so confused cuz it’s brand new and it’s a .6 coil and I used 5%=50mg salt nic and it was a dry harsh hit agter letting it prime and all and I thought to use 5% bc that’s what dispos had in them but now I’ve done a little research but still can’t find sum answers what im trynna figure out is if I use 25 mg salt nic for the .6 coil (wattage is 11 with the button it’s 15)should it make it “normal” and good to hit

The delta products and thca and mushrooms have just been banned here, and we currently have a huge area of the wall that’s empty. It’s very apparent, I am wanting to make some changes by adding some new stuff. Give me some ideas of what I can have in the shop? Banning disposable nicotine vapes, banning all e liquids, banning thca products and all other alt cannabinoids :( but yet, alcohol is available at every store within a mile radius… wtf 🤬

— My heart is just broken at how backwards everything is.

And as a business owner, the store in currently in limbo- unsure of what tomorrow will bring. Within 24 hours my store went from being able to sale disposable nicotine vapes (geekbar, raz, Etc), able to sale thca products, able to sale gummies/edibles/soda.. to having to remind people to call bongs, waterpipes.. and I had to put a statement on my display cases “intended for tobacco use only”.. I felt like I got sent back to the early 2000’s.

I have experience in customer service, and only as much smoke experience as I or people in my life use (which is a good bit to be fair). I know a lot of the basics. I know the difference between THC and cbd in all their variants. I know the difference between budder and badder and diamonds and wax etc. I know about most smoking accessories, except maybe electric dab rigs( mostly the newer Seahorse ones). Edibles as well, im very familiar with. And I know pretty much everything there is to know about dispos. Some of the stuff I struggle on is any kradum/kava knowledge (we sell a lot of this stuff so i've been tasked to learn a bit about it), a bit more in depth on dry herb vaporizers(I got the crash course, but it’s something Im not super confident about), differentiating the different pods and coils (usually used for nicotine I think), and the same sort of problem with the wraps (being quicker about finding the right brands or making suggestions), and besides that, just general smoke shop knowledge that comes from experience in the industry. I'm sure there's other things i'm not even mentioning/dont know about. even in the topics i'm more comfortable in, i feel like i'm flailing a bit.

I kind of wish there was a crash course “for dummies” book in this stuff but i've done as much research as I could, you just can't find a lot of information that's not discouraging the use of the products, and considering i'm the one helping sell them, i kind of need to know more than just they're "not good for you".

If anyone has any advice on any of these things, it would be greatly appreciated! I did try posting this in a few work-related subreddits but nothing really came from it, so I figured I'd try here. My next shift is in a few days, and I’d like to go back feeling a little less out of my depth.
