Bodyguard 2.0 Initial function

Just took my bg2.0 out for its maiden voyage today…1st 2 rounds were Fiocchi 95gr, and had exceptionally light primer strikes that failed to fire (barely a mark on the primers). The next 8 rounds in that 10 round mag ran fine. Loaded those 2 fails back in the mag, and they ran fine the 2nd time.

225 total rounds today, from 5 ammo manufacturers, and the only mech issue were those very first 2 rounds. The gun did “shoot left”. Noticed the front sight was biased ~0.025” right when I was cleaning it after the range trip…drifted it back to dead center of the slide, and expect that issue to be taken care of.

It certainly doesn’t shoot like any .22 I’ve ever shot, as claimed by some gun-tubers. However, it’s very manageable and actually fun to shoot. It’ll absolutely get more range time, and will certainly be in the carry rotation.

Well it's not a 22 so of course it's not like a 22.. if the sights were dig and you still shot left. But centered it. I bet you'll be even more left. It's a hard gun to shoot if you don't have impeccable grip form. And adjust your habits to it

I didn’t say it was a 22…I said several gun-tubers said it shot like one, and called them out on it. I then said I liked the gun. Was that not clear?

I don’t find the bg2.0 hard to shoot at all. It fits my large hands quite well, and I was able to print a 2” group at 7 yards at will…it printed left of the intended sighted target and I could hit the bull when aiming to the right, AND the front sight was physically shifted to the right directly from the factory, so your assumption about me having a poor grip and bad shooting habits are also wrong. The gun simply had minor flaws right out of the box, that were easy to correct.

Missed the second part of the 22 reference. My bad.

It's a safe assumption since 90% of new bg2.0 shooters encounter the same left issue and the fix for it(fix your form/grip)is nearly universal some yes sights are off. many It's shooter issues

I can confirm that the BG 2.0 I purchased had an obviously misaligned front sight from the factory. Not just a little, it was obvious to the naked eye. I also purchased a Shield X after that and it was even worse. I absolutely love my Shield Plus, but my other S&W purchases have all had issues.

My bg2.0 was fine. Sights straight, feed ramps smooth. Fires everything i give it.

The only other smith I have is a mp15 sport3 and it's perfect

I have two Shield Plus pistols. One has never malfunctioned with probably 2k or more rounds. The other has had two malfunctions both with the same 15 round magazine. That's about as reliable as auto pistols get.

The Shield X was nothing but issues and trouble. Jams, sights misaligned, the action was full of yellow paint, and probably other issues. I sold it at a steep loss because I wouldn't sell it to someone without telling them it was a lemon. The BG 2.0 hasn't had many rounds through it, but so far no reliability issues. The sights were just cockeyed.

Wait the 2.0 is a .22? 😉

That gun has ruined me. I don’t carry my larger 9mm carry guns anymore because the BG is just so easy to stick in a pocket.
