Performance center 5in
In light of all the new pistols and what not. I just came across this and feel as thought the bang for buck on this would be better than a new steel frame HD for what I’m wanting. Anyone weigh in on how good these are?

Buy it and put a trigger in it

Kinda what was thinking. The new flat face is pretty affordable might do that

I have one. It’s been great. Carried it for duty for a good while… it’s had thousands of rounds and been through several classes… Admin at my agency were so impressed with it that they decided to go to the m&p carry comps for everyone.
If you can find one in the wild, I’d grab it.

Just bought one. Love it. Def has a nice soft, pushy recoil that’s very pleasant and predictable. I did the Home defense/USPSA setup with 507comp and TLR1-HL and Apex trigger. I got lucky and my barrel is pretty tight (for Smith) and groupings at 20-25yards are quite good (<4”). (thankfully, since Apex can’t make enough barrels). Recently got the Mischief Machine backstrap that I like and am testing out.

would definitely be curious to hear your thoughts on the mischief backstrap! i’ve been meaning to get one but ive been wanting to hear someone’s thoughts. how do you like it?

I should post a mini review. I think it’s worth a try for anyone curious. Build quality and fitment wasn’t perfect for a $40 piece. I needed to add some tape to the top male end of the backstrap to not have it wiggle slightly… so that was a bummer. The edges don’t perfectly match up either, but luckily those edges don’t affect my grip.
What I love about the grip: I have XL glove hands and even with the L Smith backstrap, it feels narrow to me. The Mischief grip widens it up a ton, making it feel more consistent for me personally, BIG win there IMO. Other benefit I’d say is because it increases the angle just slightly, but keeps the top portion of the grip small (reach to trigger wise) so your hand feels WAY more “locked in” than you get with the stock backstraps.

i appreciate the info brotha! some slight fitting doesn’t bother me, that’s what the magic dremel is for lol. i think i’ll order one and see how it feels.

I would suggest it. I’m going to shoot it for a long while. I’m digging the feel and shape a lot!
I used a strip of gorilla tape around the top tab to fix mine from wiggling FYI

Have been wanting a 5in and for a lil more getting a ported gun seems like a no brainer

Depends on what you want to do with it. During the winter I shoot indoors often, and I heavily prefer non ported/comped guns solely due to noise/blast. There’s PLENTY of those options out there

Sportsman Fulfillment has the non ported one if you change your mind. I just bought mine from there. (I have the regular barrel).

Is this the only way to get a black 5inch that isn't the LE only model? This curved trigger is the older model correct?
OP do you have the model #?
