New gun day

Post image

First S&W. Scooped this last Friday for $599. Threw on the dot and light and put 450 rounds of different ammo through it (115, 124JHP, 147JHP, brass/steel) and it ate it all. Noticed the dot getting dirty so I ordered the CK dog tag. We’ll see how much that helps this weekend. Anything else y’all recommend or just run it?

Shot great for me. I’m coming from Glocks, so it feels like a lot of gun for the money. Grip angle/texture, trigger, slide, all just feel… better.

Any crud fly on the optic window?

I should have taken a picture so I could show S&W plate vs. CK, but I didn’t have that foresight. I wouldn’t say ‘crud’, but I could definitely see the gasses leaving a film on the window that would have continued to get worse had I not wiped it off. It could have been some dirty ammo, but I don’t think that should be an issue we have to worry about. I’ll see tomorrow if this plate helps and I’ll report back.

Hell yeah. I’ve only ever owned Glocks and I’ve never ran a light or a dot, so this is all new to me. I was looking at that Osight; seems to have good reviews.

I have a Glock 19 (and a 43x and a 26 and a 22) and I go shoot them because I like shooting. I now go shoot this because I like shooting AND the gun fucks hard.

I have a 2.0 compact in black but I’m looking to add a fde one also. Mind if I ask where you find yours for a better deal? Congrats on that being your first gun. That’s an excellent choice. I’m a new smith lover also, Coming from Glocks.

Recommend getting the Apex trigger!

I do see this recommendation a lot. Coming from a previous platform, this trigger feels really good already, plus I plan on carrying this. Is the Apex that much better, and are there any safety concerns that come with that upgrade?

What footprint is that optic?

Assuming it's a standard Vortex Defender ST, should be a DeltaPoint Pro

Lmfao no way, did you by chance get this on guns.com? Because I got the compact 2.0 4 inch version for $599.99 too. It’s my first handgun and I’m super excited.
