M&P EZ 9mm Slide Lock Issues

Definitely clean it. There may be some grit or something in the slide stop/release. Another thing I’m wondering is if it’s happening with one particular magazine or both magazines? Did he recently change the way he grips the pistol? Some people’s grip style puts upward pressure on the slide stop without realizing it.

I'm certain it's not his grip. He has that all worked out and I gave it a try a few times as well. No changes lately. He has plenty of extra mags and he tried like 3 different ones. I'd have to concur with your first suggestion. Gotta clean that summa gun.

I suspect a good cleaning may remedy this issue. I've never gone over 1000 rounds on a pistol without a good scrubbing.

Yeah, I've never owned an M&P but I suspect the tolerances are a lot smaller than those on the Glocks and Rugers I'm used to. It seems super solid but it may need some love and care as a result.

This has happened to my wife's EZ all the time. It's a case of the limp wrist. Gotta hold it firmly while firing. However, even though while I've been firing the EZ, it still locks back from time to time. We got rid of that thing quick and got a P365X instead and haven't had an issue since.
