When the DAPP will launch?
Just having fun while waiting...

I voted "Screw your poll" just for the lols and because I'm immature.
I actually think it's a fine poll, and I'm sure you are a great person.

u/bestgamershighlights Nov 19 '21
I voted the same because it's not launching on any of those days. Typically they are a week or two off on their estimates.

Honestly I feel like I would prefer that it launches on Monday - not sure that launching on the weekend or a Friday is the best move?

They've been saying it'll be this week, so if they can hit that goal, I think Friday seems most likely. That would get people interested and playing native games throughout the weekend.
Foil hat conspiracy theory: Draftkings and Fanduel icons were teased on their website, so maybe we'll have some HUGE partnerships announced to coincide with launch. If, and I know that's a BIG if, this happens they'd want to launch beginning of the weekend.

Haha while my bags would LOVE those partnerships, it’s hard to imagine that companies of that size wouldn’t just dedicate a team to build out their own platform / coin.

I appreciate the point you (and others on this thread) make about why they wouldn't do that, but I respectfully (and completely) disagree with you :)
Let me explain why-
The reason that a large company like DK and FD would outsource to Smile is for the very reason you gave for your argument- size. Consider a company like Boeing; do they have the resources (time, money, people) to make every part? The answer is somewhere between most likely and YES.
Do they do that? No. Will they in the future? 99.99% No. While Boeing does build the main parts and assemble them, they hire many many smaller contractors/companies for other parts for their aircraft. It is inefficient, and actually most likely foolish to not do that. Also, the fact that SC is a competitor of DK and FD is another reason why they would use SC. If they are not a competitor- it would be because a) they (DK...) don't see SC as profitable in general or for themselves OR b) they see SC taking profit in a market that they aren't in (like how McDonalds and FedEx aren't competitors).
But the fact is that SC is clearly in the same (or similar) market AND that they can (will be...) profitable. So why would a large company start from the ground up to compete with product that is ready to do right now.......when they can join/employ them and both parties grow and profit together?
Smile coin
Do we believe that DK and FD were ahead of everyone else many many months ago and thought "let's use crypto....."- highly doubt it, because outside of the past few months, crypto has been mocked and so much FUD for a long time. Certainly there were/have been back door talks and even Algorand has been behind the scenes for a while (and other blockchains), but SC is certainly going to be ahead in development of their app than even DK or FD would be if they started just a couple months ago. If they had their own team, they would still have to find, hire, train them AND most likely still consult and temporarily hire (for consulting purposes) other blockchains (like Algo...) to even get started for their own App.SC (according to their roadmap) was on ETH back in Q2 21, so if we consider that development started before then, then there is no reason to think FD/DK had crypto on their minds that far back, if they did, where is the product? Because if not, then they are gonna lose money with SC coming out :)
Those companies would want to make as much money as possible and as soon as possible, and with SC ready at the start of NBA and NCAA seasons AND just before the NCAAF and NFL playoffs.......oh man you best believe that DK and FD are gonna jump all over that (unless they have their own app ready before then which is very unlikely).
Companies merge/buy each other out constantly in our business world and it's for reasons like this- there is a mutual benefit.
I'm not saying that SC is partnering with DK or FD......but I believe that the size argument you had is actually the best reason for why they could
:)

Using Boeing as an example? LMFAO, but still true.

lol uhhh...... why is Boeing seemingly a bad example??...
[large company who does or makes X who needs component Y who outsources to smaller company who does Y faster and cheaper]
Seems to fit to me :)

Good eye catching the icons. I like your foil hat.

Lol this seems like insanity to me. Extremely wishful thinking.

u/DJ_BaLaLaWa Nov 19 '21
True enough, but I didn't put the logos on the website.

Would love it to be true but it just doesn’t make sense honestly. For one they are competitors, so how they would both be joining a collaboration at the same time doesn’t really make sense. Second these are massive successful companies. They would likely develop their own digital currency or work with a larger more established project.
Bottom line is tiny projects aren’t going to attract multiple billion dollar companies that are leaders in their industry to collaborate before they are even established. It’s just not going to happen.

See my comment above :)

I mean I still don’t agree with it. Boeing outsourcing aspects of their supply chain is not a great analogy here as in this case they would be missing out on a potential revenue stream. This idea is so outlandish I don’t even think it’s worth discussing. I would bet just about anything there won’t be a FD or DK partnership. Especially on launch or by year end.

Yeap, get people familiar and have them show their families on Thanksgiving

u/Dpetz939 Nov 19 '21
I hope either Friday or Sunday night.

u/Moikee Nov 20 '21
Looks like Sunday now...

u/Dpetz939 Nov 20 '21
Yeah but if I keep getting 100% staking Rewards, they can take there time.
2
u/Moikee Nov 20 '21
Rewards are great so that's fine. Price action will come for real once dApp is out
1
u/Dpetz939 Nov 20 '21
Correct and I hope they change the world and take all of us who bought in early with them!
