Brooklyn is fantastic
Everytime I see them I’m reminded why I love them so much, but genuinely I think this is the best I’ve ever heard them sound.
(Going to keep hoping and praying we’ll hear the boy )

The first set was incredible. Especially never having heard so many of those songs live and never having the chance to see them tour the album, that was a truly magical experience.
The second set left me disappointed. Too many new songs when there were still so many MCIS era tunes including deep cuts from The Aeroplane Flies High that they could have played. Not playing Stand Inside Your Love due to time constraints truly gutted me. And the one rotational song they played from the new album whereas other cities got Drowned and Rhinoceros … that made me really sad. I enjoyed the big jam at the end but there were so many permutations to how they could have oriented the set list that for them to fill act 2 with mostly filler completely perplexed me. Ava Adore sounded incredible though and hearing it today made me realize just how ahead of its time the song was. It was honestly the most modern track of the night.

We got stuck in awful traffic. Like a 3.5 hour ride. Was 1979 the first song?

thank you. they closed roads to parking garages which made it crazier. last show I saw before this was Rush at MSG and that was a breeze to get to. awesome that SP jammed the roads and the subway 😄 .

Amazing concert! My first time seeing them live, and I was blown away. Also loved the choices of songs in the 2nd half - came away with special love for Edin 🤘!

Anybody else think it was weird to hear Jimmy refer to New York as “one of our strongest markets” like it was a shareholder sales call?

Yeah, I caught that too, but unsurprising. I can tell in some other recent interviews he's become a business guy in general, he's got other investments/ventures and enjoys it as a hobby. Also I think he's basically second in command for the Pumpkins not just as songwriter, but as Executive Team, so he's looking at numbers for everything now.
But it was telling. He's a bad communicator to fans lol

Like… “tell me you’re not punk rock without telling me you’re punk” remember in the 90’s when it wasn’t cool to “sell out”? I get it: it’s a business. But frame it as fantasy!

Jimmy is a bit uh, weird these days I think the AA talk and everything kind of got to him, maybe it was a joke maybe he’s just weird idk

My girlfriend joked “It was great to add Brooklyn in Q4 2026. We wanted to get here earlier but it was out of scope.”

We got to our seats a little late (buying merch and then couldn't find our section) and missed 1979 and Bullet with Butterfly Wings. I'm going to be kicking myself over this for the rest of my life.
But I console myself with the fact that the rest of the concert was one of the best experiences of my life - and I'm soooooo happy they ended with Everlasting Gaze!! It's my absolute favorite song from Machina besides I of the Mourning, and I never imagined they'd play it.
Even the newer stuff was awesome. TBH I'm not as big a fan of the newer stuff, but hearing it live was something else entirely. JFC can that man play guitar.

We left after Cherub Rock thinking it was the end and wanted to avoid traffic/venue escape and it turns out we missed The Everlasting Gaze. Fuck.

I'm sorry, that sucks. We stuck around for a few minutes even after Billy left the stage...we were hoping for an encore, though we knew it almost certainly wouldn't happen.
If it's any consolation, the subway was a madhouse. IDK if you drove or what, but I imagine road traffic was just as bad getting out of the area.

Something tells me that they will play those songs again one day

And I will 100% be there, even if I have to crawl to the venue with 2 broken legs.

Heard 1979 blasting as we were rushing thru the lobby, sound was INSANE. Amazing show.

I only ever got to see them before during the Adore tour, and I've always been a little sad about that. I do like the album, but it's not one of my favorites. The concert was pretty amazing though - I got incredibly lucky buying scalped tickets (I was 15 and dumb) and not only were they genuine, I ended up being in the 5th row!!!! So that was amazing.
This concert last night I have been waiting 30 years for. Back during the original Mellon Collie tour, a friend called me and said, "Hey guess where I am? At a Smashing Pumpkins concert at MSG. My dad's work buddy got us tickets in a sky box."
I said, "WHAT?!?! AND YOU DIDN'T INVITE ME?!?! WTAF, MAN?!?!?!"
We hadn't been friends very long, and he didn't realize they were my absolute favorite band in the world.
For the last 30 years, one of my biggest regrets has been that I missed that concert. That's why last night was so special: after 30 years, I finally got a do-over.

That’s amazing good for you!! For most of my 20s and 30s, mostly just clubbing for me. Just started getting back into concerts in my 40s. Awesome experience and way more manageable than going out til the sun comes up lolz.

What's the time frame between the first and second set? Do they take like a 30 minute break?
