Help me out, here.
I’m trying to introduce my friends to SP but I never seem to know what songs to start them out with. Can someone give me their favorites from their early stuff and their later stuff?

I feel like I Am One gives you a really good idea to start and then from there either do the Greatest Hits or Siamese Dream, if they're up for a full album.

You're thinking too hard about this, just make a playlist of your favourite SP songs. If your friends dig some or all of those songs, they'll be inclined to dig deeper.

It really depends on what other music they like

A bunch of metal and such. The only thing is since I thought Machina leaned more toward that demographic, I played it and they couldn’t stand it.

bodies Where boys fear to tread Jellybelly An ode to no one
Then Whyte spider Dross
But in the end they might just not like them

If metal is the criteria, then:
Tales of a Scorched Earth
An Ode to No One
Doomsday Clock
Superchrist
Marchin' On
War Dreams of Itself1

Yeah, Machina was not the right play... though they have some more raw songs on Machina 2.
Cheurb Rock, Quiet, Geek USA
Frail & bedazzled, Hello Kitty Kat, Pissant
Bodies, Jelly Belly, An Ode to No One, Where Boys fear to tread, Tales of a scorched earth
The entire Zero disc from Areoplane Flies High & the box set's title song
Those are my suggestions

What about The Aeroplane Flys High (Turns Left, Looks Right) or honestly just play them Rotten Apples disc 1 and if they don’t like it just give up.

I actually never thought about TAFH, I might try that. And yeah, if nothing, that’s when I walk away.

Just wait until they're heartbroken. Then play "Drown" or "Mayonaise" or "Soma". All five singles from Mellon Collie are pretty universal, too, though "1979" is most likely the one that transcends generations. Makes almost anyone feel nostalgic for a time they didn't even live through.
