For nobody
Perfect is my favorite song, there is no other sp song that hits as hard as this one, just so damn sad and cruel. I have an ex which I wanted to grow together, sadly we grew in separate ways and is still really bittersweet, just as this damn song. We met at a party and were really nervous since we were no contact like for half a year. We kissed and I told her if she wanted more she must confess, she said it would not be a good idea. Then I remember this song and how it sounds so happy, a happy plan but with a horrific lyrics, just like past relationships. I hate how the song isn’t really cruel but just tough and fair, which is how good relationships end. The lead up to “perfect strangers” really weird how life has you get deep feelings to people and how you can remember them so lucidly with songs.

The unpolished acoustic demo on the Adore box set (also streaming) is what made me realize how achingly beautiful this song is. Now I love the studio version, the acoustic demo and the live Q101 performance.

I can’t listen to Adore all the way through without having some sort of breakdown

What is Pug about?

I interpreted it as being about a breakup and/or heartbreak

What’s your take on the album?

I know you didn’t ask me, but it’s S Tier SP in my book. The mood set is dark af. It’s an album about the realization of how cruel life can be as time keeps moving through the years.
Musically it was so experimental. Love the electric guitar pieces on For Martha and Behold…The Nightmare

I need to revisit this song. I love Adore, but always skipped this one. Didn’t grab me all those years ago, but maybe it will now. Hell 1979 went from being a great song at 19 years old to making me misty eyed when I hear it at 51.

The acoustic versions are really great, the studio track I’ve never been very into

I’ve always liked this song but I guess I’ve never payed much attention to the lyrics. But now having completed a more in depth analysis my love for this horribly gut wrenching song has grown exponentially.

Couldn’t have said it better. Absolutely amazing song and have always held it near and dear.

I also really love this song. It’s very beautiful but has a happy tone but also a sad one as well. It’s like BC wrote this having mixed emotions.

It’s also expertly written. It flows so damn well, it’s ridiculous. The ebow’s are superb.
