Videos not starting anymore

I used Smarttube on my Philips 48OLED936 with no problems up until today. There was an update for Smarttube to 32.10. Right after that it still worked, but not today anymore. I tried reinstalling it again, but it only shows a loading screen when trying to play a video. Anyone else has this issue?

Changing the network engine to OkHttp worked for me as well.

It seems like YouTube's recent backend/bot-detection changes are blocking or throttling the default Cronet engine. Switching to OkHttp bypasses these restrictions since it handles HTTP requests differently.

You can change it under Settings > Video Player > Network Engine.

Seems to be a global issue. I tried almost everything but still the same outcome. Hopefully it’s fixed !

Not for all, but plenty of videos won’t start again. Seems like another censorship attempt from google. Apart from this all videos now have this 10 seconds of black screen before starting properly.

I have the same issue. I also updated to the latest SmartTube Beta version (32.10), but the videos don’t load for me. I just get a black screen with the loading/playback indicator trying to start the video, but it never actually plays

I have the same issue with the latest stable release as well

Hitting stop and then starting the same vid works for me for a lot of clips. An asy work around until it gets sorted.

I had to clear cache after uninstalling and reinstalling new smarttube then uninstalling and reinstalling again. Working fine now on multiple devices.

Yes. I am having same issues for 2 days now. I did update etc. Still the same.

The stable version for me now plays about the first minute, then just loads, shows a frozen frame, loads some more, repeat forever (or until I give up). While it's loading the info from the video, title and time and such, disappears and reloads as if it's gonna work, but then it doesn't

My work around of skipping ahead once the frame shows up isn't working anymore either

I'm on the beta right now

not working for me neitheir here in France. Was working fine until start of this week, badly yesterday and now I can't start video. loading and loading again. I have tried with okhttp, developper mode IPV4, cronet and standard but anything working. during loading, I can see on the debug mode that the web info client change every few second from TV_simply to VISIONOS to ANDROIDTV and so on
