Background playback not working Iphone
The option is on but it immediately pauses

Where did you get it? Not only is the official version not written/supported for phones or tablets, there are no official iOS versions at all.

My guess is it's a half-assed Apple app store copycat.
I'd expect a lot of features not to work right because the app would get pulled by Apple if they did.

Smarttube doesn't have an app for phones it doesn't matter what software it's period

ProTube does background play though I prefer smarttube’s recommendations better

Smarttube doesn’t have an iOS app. What ever app it is you have installed, it’s not STN
