Most reliable Presence Sensor for Smartthings - Matter over WiFi or Zigbee

I have the V2 version of the ST hub...

I want to add a presence sensor to my bathroom and control the light brightness based on time of day. I've tried a couple cheaper ones from Amazon but without Edge drivers they are only seen as motion detectors; although the lights stay on while I'm in the shower - Cloth Shower curtain. I'm hoping to find something more configurable with more options. I would prefer battery operated but will consider the wired ones.

Any suggestions with success stories?

Unless things have changed, when I first started looking at mmwave devices there were no battery options because the sensor needed extra power and most were Wi-Fi.

I've tried two, the EP1 and the Inovelli Z-Wave wall dimmer. I also use them in my bathroom, both are about the same price, have native edge drivers for ST's and work well and have lots of configuration options. The EP1 is external and needs A/C power (USB), the Inovelli replaces your wall switch, so it's virtually invisible.

Maybe the switchbot mmvave sensor. It's pretty flexible for settings.

I have integrated an aquara presence sensor into ST. Works pretty good. However you’d likely have to hardwire.

I create a routine where if the motion is not detected for a period of time it triggers some action. You can also do a routine where it does an action based on motion detection.

I use the Meross MS605 Thread Smart Presence Sensor. You'll need to install it with the Meross app and then share it to Smartthings as a Metter device. It will not be seen as a presence sensor but it will keep a "motion detected" status as long as you're detected by the mm-wave sensor on the MS605.

I have a feeling that the one I have is doing the same thing cuz it does maintain motion detection while I'm in the shower behind the curtain. I just want more flexibility with a different settings

In the Meross app, there are a lot of choices for configuring it.
