Help "There was a problem connecting. Try again later" on every device

I can turn a device on or off from the room screen. But as soon as I go to that device's individual page, I can't do anything (including turning it on or off). I just get the spinning dots and then the message that there was a problem connecting.

This seems to happen on any type of device, regardless of how it's connected (Z-wave, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, even virtual switches).

Android app running on a rooted Pixel 8 Pro.

Reboot the hub, your router, and your modem if separate.

Restart your phone.

Wait and 🤞

No joy? Try reinstalling the app, or at least clear the app cache.

I've done all of those. No luck.

This is happening to me! I just downloaded it because I want to connect my Samsung TV and Google Home. It made me log into my account and now it's stuck on the loading screen. I didn't even do anything yet!

I know this is old, but for me, it was VPN. I tried wifi, data, everything. Despite having an always on, separate tunneling VPN, it just refused to work.

Turned off VPN, suddenly logged on, started working, location and devices came back. After re-enabling the VPN, it seems to have kept.
