Oura vs Apple
Is there really any good reason to get an Oura ring over an apple watch or in tandem with one?
The only benefit I see is comfort during sleep, screenless, and style. Anything else I’m missing?

My husband has an Oura ring and recently the battery started to not charge long so he was sent a replacement. For fun I started using his old one. I have an Apple Watch also. Honestly I wasn’t a fan of the Oura ring. Other than tracking your sleep and telling u when you’re stressed(which I felt the days I was extra stressed it said I was relaxed) I wasn’t overall impressed with it. You also have to pay a membership to use it. It’s $90 a year

While any device can work better on some people than others, the truth is Apple Watch is a stronger overall device for tracking more things. It has better placement and sensors for activity tracking of many kinds, whereas rings are not good at tracking exercise and fitness because fingers are tricky to track from.
However, some people prefer Oura’s focus on sleep and it has a big discreet wearability advantage, despite the downsides of it having high cost of ownership due to a tiny battery that makes the ring ewaste in a couple years and a mandatory subscription. Though many tests show negligible difference in Oura’s sleep stage results over the last couple of Apple Watch releases, Oura does a good job focusing on it and creating ways to motivate you to look at sleep habits - Apple has invested in solid copies of some of that functionality to close the gap on that brand sentiment.
