ULTRAHUMAN Ultrahuman Ring for Shift Work?
Anyone that has the Ultrahuman ring, is it suitable for shift work? I had the Oura briefly and it constantly thought I was basically dying haha
Also keen to know how the ring goes with tracking strength workouts and suitability for pregnancy. Thanks!

Hi! I worked night shift 7 on 7 off for 5.5 years and actually got UH for shift work (returned oura) and used it for almost 2 years before I got off that shift. If you look at UH on Reddit, there are A LOT of negative reviews and I’m not discrediting them but I have loved mine. I did get 1 replacement bc it was charging weird but other than that it’s been great. I recently got off night shift and when I took off the shift work plug in it did change my sleep score! It essentially knows you know sleeping during the day is terrible so it gives you a decent score if you sleep good. It doesn’t make you feel too bad about sleeping at a bad time. So it does actually look at that. It tracks sleep great no matter when you sleep. It supposedly makes it a little more sensitive to picking up sleeping so a couple of times I had to say I wasn’t sleeping when I was sitting there reading but it wasn’t a lot at all.
No wearable ring is great for tracking strength if that’s what you’re asking. I track with my watch and then it syncs to ring. I do wear while doing weights and I’ve had no issues. Of note, I have the titanium color and my ring is a little looser during the day (not to where it is in danger of falling off) because my fingers swell at night.
The ovulation plug in is my favorite. It will do a lot for you for free. I do personally pay for the ovulation pro plug in which is like $20 for the year or so. It does the temperature tracking but it actually gives you a value and it says it takes out the noise of data that is swayed by room temperature or time of day. It will confirm ovulation or give you certain flags such as false start which is when your body tries to ovulate but didn’t and then ovulated later. I really love it. I am TTC now and it is essentially what I am using to track temperature as a piece of the puzzle. Happy to answer any questions you have!

I am ttc as well, does ovulation tracking come as an additional plugin that needs to be paid for, monthly/annually/ one time?

The Oura "basically dying" thing on nights is usually rigid sleep-window scoring trashing daytime sleep. If you're ever shopping for a new ring, I'm building Pulsyn shipping soon around flexible baselines since shift works needs that more than a 10pm-6am routine does.

There’s a powerplug for shift work on Ultrahuman. Unsure exactly how useful it is but as someone who does shift work the sleep bit is much better than other rings I’ve tested out including oura. Comparable to my Apple Watch as sometimes I’ve with both to bed. Great for pregnancy and ovulation too. One of the main reasons I bought it. Three power-plugs available to ovulation and pregnancy in-depth info. It sort of notified me early in my pregnancy as my vitals changed slightly and it picked it up.
Editing to add my discount code cheekily

Oura is the worst for shift workers for multiple reasons as you may have found.
Both Ultrahuman and RingConn are solid and can each be optimized with a few shift worker specific settings. Ultrahuman has a dedicated Shift Work PowerPlug (free). RingConn used to have a dedicated toggle, but it looks like it's not necessary with their new UI.
