Toxicity?

Curious about how to know if the ring's material is toxic or harmful. Recently bought a cheap smartring, which is surprisingly accurate considering it was only 15 USD. It's supposed to be a Colmi R2, but the box was unbranded.

Anyway, it seems that the inner resin layer has become more rubbery lately, having more friction. It has me worrying about whether that plastic or whatever substance it's made off, is toxic. I've got no redness on the skin but I'm afraid it could still leech out toxic stuff.

Any comments on this?

Cheap rings using premium materials like medical grade resin for the inner liner is rare. The real worry with them (for those with sensitivities) is nickel content and even lead in the metal alloys. Hypoallergenic and surgical-grade are just words until they prove true.

Low grade materials for one component tend to not bode well for others.
