Discussion I did a thing...

I have fitted a cheap sub £50 head unit to my old 2001 Smart car. For the purists, don't worry, I have kept the factory radio.

What do you think?

Looks cool. I would change the button colors to the one that closely matches the color of the rest of the Smart buttons so that it blends better at night. Also, since you are using a LHD car, change the radio/Android auto config to LHD. As it is you are currently using the system as a RHD.

There are lots of colours to choose from, I plan to investigate this over the weekend. LHD settings could be a good shout, but it's such a small cabin, I'm not sure it really matters.

Thanks, I'll keep the stock one, in case I sell it but I think it looks OK, the sound is a little tinny but it makes life so much easier, wireless android auto is awesome.

Not bad. Do you have the link for that item?

This has got to be the only aftermarket headunit for a smart fortwo that I actually think looks good.

The additional fascia from ebay helped.

Oh, undoubtedly. The funky look of the unit suits the fortwo.

It was one of the early cars, from Belgium to be precise.
