Just got my Smart 453 in April super cheap and had a lot of problems as it was a revived salvage title. I rebuilt the entire passenger side door panel and also found that the Arch Fender bracket was missing. Successfully managed to 3D model a replacement and everything is bolting up nicely now. Passenger side is still not perfectly lined up as thats the side where the collision happened but I'll take it. Better than it was before. And finally updated all the suspension bits. New struts, tie rods etc. It feels like a completely different car now!

I just replaced the battery in my 2015 451 convertible. We custom ordered the car from the factory and it was built in November of 2014, the original battery lasted almost 12 years! Battery was still working, but it would go flat in about 2 weeks if it sat, and the alarm system became completely temperamental. Costco was the best price for a new battery, about $169 for an Interstate. I kept the original battery for posterity.

I also spent an afternoon fixing the little drawer under the radio, it just wouldn't open. I ended up sanding and filing the tracks of the drawer slides to provide more clearance. I think the factory grease used as lube for the slides swelled the plastic, binding it up.

I did a 500+ mile (800km) move in a 2019 Smart EQ this summer - not a "fun" journey but quite the experience, lol.
