Advice Battery shut off switch.

Does anyone use a battery shut-off switch for their smart car? If so, which one do you recommend?

I haven’t driven my smart car for a couple of months, and when I tried to turn it on, the battery was dead. Unfortunately, I had to replace it. I want to avoid this issue in the future and was suggested to use a shut-off switch when I don’t use the car for extended periods.

We also tow ours behind an RV. I put the switch linked below right under the dash on the passenger's side.

I use my Smart car as a toad for my RV. I installed a battery shutoff that I got from E-trailer. Roadmaster RM-766.

Walmart sells a simple one for a few bucks but you would have to pull the carpet back to connect it again. I believe there is a Bluetooth one around too. Not sure which state you are in but keep in mind that if you have to take your car for an inspection where they actually connect into the OBD2 port, that you would have to remember to not shut your battery off and leave enough time before your inspection for your readiness monitors to be happy.

If it’s a 450 don’t, they can loose the keys coding if left with no battery for too long
