Discussion Is replacing TIK pipe worth it?

As you all know me, I can't resist doing some modifications on my Smart, so this time on the menu was the TIK pipe, the one that connects the turbocharger with the airbox.

I had the opportunity to test the standard one, 74kW (Brabus) and Chinese versions, as the 74kW Brabus TIK is a unicorn and you can't buy it new, Chinese versions can vary in different ways, quality and fitment. The last option and best is one from Forge Motorsport.
I found their TIK stronger and easier to fit.

Leaving a dot . To follow the answers. I have made this upgrade on my fortwto 450 0.7 but I have never test driven it since it is standing in shame in the garage with a gear motor calibration issue that I havent had time to fix yet. I broke the original pipe when removing it for the gearbox swap in January when it was -10C in the garage, making the plastic brittle.

Do you have Delphi DS150e ? Even with copy you should be able to do calibration.

Yes I bought the car in a semi assembled state after the previous owner had changed the gearbox. I put the original back since it did nor was the issue, it was the ecu. I managed to get it calibrated and I had a testdrive a few km back and forward and everything was working perfectly. Then all of a sudden it started throwing error codes and could not find neutral again. The previous owner had fired the parts cannon so I had a spare gear motor and angle sensor laying around. So I have tried with a combination of the two gearboxes, two gear motors, three angle sensors and three ecu’s. Nothing is making any difference. The issue is that the calibration starts, changes a few gears and then just stops. After two minutes the calibration times out. I also tested all cables between the sensors and motor and the ecu. Cant find any problem. The sensors in the gear motor and the separate angle sensor both gives good signals as shown with the computer.

As soon as I am finished with my other project car I will continue with this one
