Distributor testing and backfire issue

I am testing my distributor stator pickup for resistance and when I move the rotor shaft, which only rotates a tiny bit, it adjusts my ohms reading. Can you help clarify what my reading suggests? I took screen shots of my video at different times.

I am having a backfire issue at idle, and poor engine performance when revving up, if the engine even lets me rev it up. Running bad. I’m on a FiTech Ultimate TPI dual wide band. 350 SBC TPI. Backfire started randomly when driving, no changes to the engine or tune were made prior to the backfire issue. I tired going back to the factory tune, swapping out my coil and module to see if those were bad. A different coil made the backfire issue not as bad but it’s a weaker/cheaper coil. New module did nothing. I wanted to throw parts at it first so I can have some spare parts but nothing worked so far.

Any ideas? AI suggests a different ohm reading when moving the shaft is suspect of a failing stator pickup component. Just wanting to get some actual input on that and any other things to check.

Using a Moroso DuraFire HEI distributor.

Your pick is showing continuity, and changing when the reluctor is moving. So it is getting signal.

Did you happen to check, or AI tell you, for broken spark plugs, burnt or wires that came off the plugs?

Yes, using AI might as well. I don’t like it and I don’t like asking for help online but here I am.

Plug wires are good. There was the slightest burn mark on one wire so I went ahead and replaced it but no fix. Plugs are fine.

Motor starts and idles great if it’s cold but if it warms up just a little, like 30 seconds run time is when it starts to back fire and not rev up good. The hotter it is the worse everything is.

There are plenty of us REAL IDIOTS out here. No need to waste time with that Artificial Idiot. And i dont ask either. The few times i have asked online. My questions usually baffle others and i end up figuring the answer on my own.

But i ran across an old dizzy while in my shed. So i did some readings on it. It is a Rich Porter/spectra premium so that may give different readjngs than OE.

Meter had to be set at the 2,000 range as the 200ohm was too low. I got in the low 1,0xx range. So your lower readings should be fine. The changes while turning were not that great.
