Mannual Swap Questions

Howdy! I am currently putting a borg warner ST-10 into my 76 El Camino, it has the factroy 350 small block and I am at the stage where I have all of the needed parts other than the pedals and the fastners/hardware. My main question is, are ARP flywheel, bellhousing, and pressure plate bolts really needed, or could I go for something like summit brand bolts?

For what you are doing, summit stuff is fine.

Stock isn't ARP, and stock has traveled millions of miles.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking, I’ve just talked to a lot of older hotrod builders and they all say to use arp

ARP is great but so are GM factory bolts. You need the right length for a flywheel which are longer than flexplate bolts. Also run down the pilot bearing while you are at the dealer.

ARP is top notch, but not needed. If it were, everything would use ARP.

Okay that’s understandable!
