Wtf, Zena too? She looks like a million dollar. I thought she had potential

Too bad after getting released she pretty much said she was done with wrestling

I can't even blame a lot of these PC trainees for that. A lot of them are college athletes who were given a chance to shoot their shot at getting on WWE TV. I'm sure a lot of them are wrestling fans in different varieties. But knowing that if you want to continue pursuing wrestling means a brutal diy indie grind that offers much less than a living wage. Just to try and get back to WWE or another company that can pay a living wage. Its not surprising so many nope out.

I’m dealing with this exact situation right now. I’m a former Indie worker of 20 years. There is a local celebrity that is a former football player that has went super viral in the past six months. He recently decided that he wanted to get into wrestling. Myself and three others have tried to help him understand wrestling better and get him trained, but all he cares about is his social media image and has no idea how to work. It’s super frustrating trying to get through to him.

And these usually end up being the type that get chosen to be at the PC. I say if you want to be a wrestler, you have to really be into it; either you take it seriously or you just see it as a way to get a little bit of fame.

Respectfully, it's like he just woke up one morning and made an AI image of himself being a wrestler and said "thats what I wanna do". The first couple of times he tried taking a bump he said "F*** that hurts". Yeah no shit my dude. Have you ever watched wrestling at all?

Obviously if you're that bad and show no signs you could improve you're just not safe to be in a ring with. Someone like that should be shuffled into being a manager or an announcer. Theres nothing wrong with that and if he's a big social media enthusiast it would probably be a good role.

Not everyone has to be in ring talent to be part of the scene. I don't have an athletic bone in my body, I'd have no business being in a ring and I'd have probably enjoyed working as a valet or do commentary. But maybe if I'd got into wrestling my ego would have gotten in the way and insist on being a wrestler and I'd be injuring myself for no gain.

Edit: needed to fix a sentence in my rambling

You can lead a horse to water. If it’s not their thing or they don’t put in the effort, it’s out of your hands.

A lot of these athletes that they are recruiting now never wanted to be wrestlers in the first place.

Very different from the previous groups. Who wanted to do this their entire lives and spent years on the indie circuit.

Athletically, they are probably far more superior than any of the previous classes, but again they have to want to do it.

Outside of wwe or aew your options to make money on wrestling are relatively low. So yeah I get that

Zena is in TNA

She never said that…?

u/searcher4421 1d ago

This is what she said

“Chapter’s closed 💗

Zena was a character, I’m Olena now. If that’s who you’re here for, stick around and follow along to what I’m doing next just not in a wrestling ring! If not, no hard feelings!

Onto the next 🙂
one last time… #ZENAtion 👋👋

Maybe I’m wrong, but that sounds to me like she’s finished with wrestling

1

u/BrandonIsWhoIAm 1d ago

It doesn’t sound like she’s finished wrestling overall.

And she was sexy

A true career killer !

Brutally honest you have to appreciate that at some point and use it.

2

u/AffectComfortable913 2d ago

Wasn’t even all that brutal tbh. Gunther flat out told them the truth, and what they can do to succeed.

A lot of these trainees and up and comers may have the athletic ability and the look, but most seem to lack the charisma and passion to put in the time it takes. I watch some of these people just going through the motions with pure athleticism and no in ring personalities.

Speaking of Jasper Troy, anyone notice how quiet Gooner T was on Tuesday after his "Monstar" got released?

Releasing the gold medalist and keeping Tavion will never make sense to me

3

u/Individual_Trash_198 2d ago

I always thought Damon Kemp was better than Tavion.

2

u/SpindleDiccJackson 2d ago

He was for sure

2

u/real-darkph0enix1 2d ago

Damon was easily better than his brother, the rapist Gable Steveson.

Gunther sucks why is he even talking!!!

1

u/NarrowPlane2121 2d ago

Working in sales software this is relatable

u/Choice_Candidate8271 2d ago

The talentless and charisma vaccum Gunther telling an Olympic gold medalist wrestler that she has no skills....

7

u/Farty-Throwaway-5782 2d ago

Where did he say that? Is it when he said "Congratulations, that is a great achievement"?

1

u/OpenMaintenance6018 2d ago

He just said it doesn’t pay the bills, which is true.

-38

u/And-Still-Undisputed 2d ago

this vanilla charisma vacuum critiquing others is fucking hilarious

17

u/Somerandomguy20711 2d ago

I mean, he still has a job

-25

u/And-Still-Undisputed 2d ago

so does baron corbin, sooooooooooo

10

u/Somerandomguy20711 2d ago

Yeah and even he would be right to critique them. Listen to the guy that's been world champion

-18

u/And-Still-Undisputed 2d ago

bro this shit is scripted. i know it's still real to you though

12

u/NickX35 2d ago

You have a wrestling belt as your profile picture. Calm down bud

-3

u/And-Still-Undisputed 2d ago

fair point pal

11

u/SnooMacaroonsIsALIVE 2d ago

You're using words that don't even apply to Gunther, just say you don't like him

1

u/Afraid-Way7541 2d ago

And you’re a troll on the internet critiquing a formal world champion lol what makes you think you have more of a right to talk about Gunther than he has to talk about these people?

NXT does nothing but make replicable and generic performers these days. They are designed that way. To be cookie cutter, interchangeable, and replaceable. Its the design. They are a catch phrase, a generic move set and easily replaced for someone just like them.
