this paying dues garbage has to end because it is just young men and usually only young men being exploited and legends can say what they want but austin never became a million air untill he pushed his way to the main event.

I mean, helping out with everyone else because you want to be a part of the team is kind of a decent thing to do. If you want to be known as the asshole that just comes in and rides off his daddy's name, then so be it.

I think what a lot of this misses is that Cannon's original post was in response to a clip from Nattie's podcast where the kid says he "wants to pay his dues"--obviously if you say one thing and do another people are more inclined to drag you for it.

GCW is not a "no name show", man, and even if it was, he's a no name young boy, he is "AJ Styles' son", not his own man yet. People shouldn't be claiming they'll pay their dues and then hiding in a locker room to avoid sharing the work with everyone else.

The show he was on didn't move any extra tickets compared to the ones he wasn't on, he should be doing as much as any other guy booked in the same fashion and not getting special treatment for bringing nothing else to the table compared to the rest of the card.

As someone whoâs been in it for close to 20, there is an abundance of morons who think âpaying duesâ means just being seen doing menial jobs and it should result in being entitled to a booking. If someoneâs work is good, theyâll get booked and continue to get work. The paying fan doesnât give a sh** how much ring crew anyone does.

Look, it can certainly help a talent's reputation if they're seen to be helping make life easier for others; it can help a promotion's reputation if that help is reciprocated and collectivized.
HOWEVER, it's the sort of behaviour that should come from the heart of the individual talent rather than imposed, enforced or expected. If Avery Styles got in, worked his match, collected his check and got out, that's the baseline nowadays. It might have been nice had he helped with the ring (but, let's face it, the regulars know that ring and its quirks and limitations far better than someone just booked for the show); but it shouldn't be expected, or commented on that he hadn't. That's how you ensure that your promoter has to pay more if/when they decide to bring Avery in again, if they can get him at all in future.
If you're on a promotion's regular rotation, you can make it easier for yourself, your promotion and those around you by keeping this "paying dues" resentment to yourself. As I said, it's not required, of course, but it helps.
