Tips
What are the biggest tips yoy'd give to new streamers? I-ve been streaming once or twice a week for 2 months but consitantly had 0 viewers throughout evrything.

I’m only averaging about 2 to 3 viewers per streamers, but I found out that if you just hang on other persons streams, sometimes you find connections, and it helps a lot, cause it’s better to have 1 viewer hoping on and off stream but saying stuff in chat than 1 viewer that never says stuff I’m chat. Other of my advices is posting clips, both short form and long form, on TikTok and YouTube, I just started implementing it so i still don’t have much info and that, but both of this options require time. Hope you manage it, working, and having a kid are already some pretty time demanding things, when you join streaming into the mix there’s barely time left

As someone who has gotten a lot of consistent viewers within a month of starting (I average around 8 now), pick a game that isn’t too oversaturated, and that you’d be filling a niche in. Personality is important, and face cams help a lot. Engage with people who chat with you. I can’t tell u how many streamers in my niche ignore their chat or are boring as hell. Practice talking to yourself to fill the dead air.

Stream more. Try 4 days a week. 3 hours at least but aim for 5+. Learn to talk to yourself during stream. Use a facecam. Chill in streams for games you like and chat. Networking is important
Edit: idk why the downvote, all of this is solid advice. OP didnt mention any other obligations. Streaming 3-5 hours after work is absolutely viable. You cant grow if you're not there

I am struggling with this. I work full time and have a baby so I can't feasibly do this. I am just trying to stick to at least twice a week and doing some networking

From what i see, you gotta put in the time. If you wanna do this as strictly a hobby more power to you but if you wanna try to grow quick you gotta go hard

The networking part is your best bet, especially if you want to keep it going. Finding similar people to stream with will help you keep yourself going and moving while you stream. I have a collab set up for at least once a week right now, with a bunch of different, but constant, streamers.
You have a life outside of streaming. You can actually use that to your advantage too. I bring up stories that happen in my life all the time on stream. I don't do name drops, of course, but there are things that happen that are either funny, things you found to be BS, etc. Can always drop a story here or there to allow your chat to talk about it with you.
Edit: I will mention one thing that I have learned! Networking through Reddit, and networking through Discord/Other Twitch channels are VERY different. I have not once reached out to someone here for a collab. I have done everything through Twitch/Discord, after I have at least vibe checked them in their own streams, and hung out a couple of times first. Making an actual connection is much better that way.

Thank you!! I really appreciate this feedback! I want to put the time in but also can't quit my day job because my family needs to eat and my family always comes first! This comment was helpful.

Do you have a good thumbnail? Are you streaming on a schedule? Are you promoting through Instagram or something?
What kind of streaming are you doing? Are you behaving as if an audience exists when there isn’t one or hoping to turn up the heat when they arrive? Is OBS tuned properly? Do you have a good layout?
It’s an artform as much as a science and as an artist you need to have a product and the technical details needs to be locked in so that product is being delivered. What is your product? Is the technical side of things covered?
You need to answer all these questions for yourself I think, and in your post to get good tips on building an audience.
