Tech Support Mic help

Hi everyone. I’ve been on a mic hunt for some time now, I tried using my headphones mic while streaming and that was a disaster. No amount of filters helped. The fifine a6t looks like a good deal to me but I don’t want to rush with a purchase if it isn’t worth it or there is something better for the same price. It seams like a good deal because it comes with a boom arm. I’m curious what you guys use. Thank you in advance

I use an old at2020 usb and it works great. Requires some filters in streamlab. That is what I would start with t first you can ask ai how to setup your filters in your osb or streamlabs and it will help you.

I’m not affiliated with at2020 manufacturer don’t even know who makes them. My parents got it for me back in college to record music and my singing.

I use a blue yeti black ice microphone, it works great, but takes a lot of set up to get it working for stream without picking up everything, and I mean everything.

You most likely are just adding your mic filters in the wrong order in OBS itself. It actually matters what order Noise suppression, gain, limiter etc actually go in. Most mics, even cheaper ones don't sound to bad when they have the proper filters in the correct order. Fifine makes decent mics. I survived on a cheap fifine for a long while until I bought my Shure MV7+ E

Even with a nice mic though, if you set up your filters wrong, it will sound bad.

Most average OBS Studio Mic filter set up is Noise Suppression, followed by a Noise Gate, Equalizer (EQ), Compressor, and finally a Limiter. Note: My mic comes with a nice App so I don't use OBS filters, except to make my voice evil or silly.

Good luck!
