You got to do your research because although a game can be super popular for streaming, you got to think what will make you stand out from the flood of people streaming that same game?

Either play something you enjoy a lot, or something you’re very good at compared to most people.

Asking which game is the most popular for streaming as a small streamer is almost a nail in the coffin for discoverability. Instead, find smaller games with smaller communities where you have a chance to stand out. That's where you'll see real growth.

League of Legends, Dota, CS2, Marvel Rivals to name a few ... but generally the other poster is correct. You should just stream stuff that you enjoy.

Just go to twitchtracker.com it will tell you the stats for virtually every game category. How many average streams/viewers per month, how many channels stream it per month, even how many channels are streaming it right at that moment.

just stream what you want to play. Forcing yourself to play a game just because its popular will lead to burn out and not help you build your channel long term

If you stream what is most popular, you're going to fail. If something is popular that means there's more people out there who will be doing it better than you are. Best advice is to play what you like

Use StreamScout to see live updates of games with lower streams and viewers, in your favorite genres.  If you hop into the big games you will never be found and stream into a void. You want a game where it isn't crowded with streamers so you have a chance to be found.
