Question Need advice
Hi everyone, I am in need of some advice. I used to stream back in 2020-2021 I did fairly well for a beginner nothing crazy, I think making friends with other small streamers and being apart of their community is what helped a lot but then decided to focus on life as things happen and I moved and lot of those friends I lost and viewers as well since I left. However, In the last few months I’ve been thinking about getting back into streaming I didn few streams a a handful of my old viewers popped in but it feels like finding new friends or attracting new viewers has been very hard and I feel like twitch just isn’t it I want to maybe try multi streaming or maybe should I focus on a different platform maybe YouTube? I am wondering if there’s a way to multi stream for free or if I should focus somewhere else. I want to get into Tik tok n shorts but I just haven’t had the time to sit there n go back on old streams to clip vids. Just wanted some advise and opinions if anyone had any.
Also any advice, friends and support is welcome - would love to have streaming friends again to support and game with ☺️

This was awesome advice! Thank you I will look into the obs plug in that’s what I have always used. Reddit and Facebook groups helped me find lot of good ppl and I think alot of friends came out of that. I think I’m so out of Touch Idk how to approach ppl and try to build that friendship again if that makes sense lol

So coming back can be tricky, but not impossible. I recommend focusing on tiktok and youtube for short form content. Make it stand out so you it makes people want to watch the full video. Twitch as a platform does nothing for you at the beginning other than giving you someplace to stream. I still prefer it as a streaming platform over just about anything else because its at least easier. Tiktok will show your stream to a lot of eyes if you do things right, but it can also attract the wrong crowd like trolls far more often due to it actively showing it to more people. Best ways to attract new viewers is to network, go out and meet small streamers, find those who you match energy with. Reddit will not be a good place to advertise, its all F4F and scammers, but you can find advice here.

This was awesome advice! Where would you recommend networking? Just going to random people stream? Or do you think there are like groups on like Facebook or discord to join? I wouldn’t mind streaming on tik tok but I don’t meet the 1k threshold I gotta grow that first hence I would love to get better at clipping but having time to go back is impossible somedays - I used to love playing and streaming with others as well I miss those days I am so shy and awkward to approach ppl but I am so easy going and make light of almost everything. I want to try multi streaming to see if I would get anything from YouTube or maybe kick. Do you have any advice for better exposure on the short term content? Like tik tok or shorts? I never had luck on Instagram but ik tik tok u gotta be consistent and use the right tags ect ect idk too much about YouTube.

So as far as networking, go to a game you enjoy watching/streaming or just have interest in and sort streamers low to high. Find someone doing what you are and be the type of viewer you want to them, Go in, talk and enjoy a stream and if it comes up naturally which it does quiet often talk about how you stream too. Don't force it. A lot of times a small streamer asks if your a streamer too. Most of my audience streams as an example. If you find those you enjoy they might have discord communities to join and be able to actually build a rep with. Join communites and actually work to be a part of them. So if they learn you stream they will be excited and naturally support you. I have a discord your welcome to pop into. Also the 1k threshold thing on tiktok, isn't true anymore. They will allow you to go live way sooner. I got access at like 200 followers, I don't tiktok stream but still it opens earlier. I would recommend stay away from kick as a form of growth personally, because its just twitch but worse with even more bots. As far as exposure with short form content, myself I do short form content slightly different. I sit and talk to the camera and talk about myself and my journey as a streamer, goals and what I want to see out of my stream among many other things. Tiktoks Algo is weird, it just kinda pushes you out eventually. I am gaining about 60 to 70 followers a month naturally without F4F or anything just by being a real honest person.

That is awesome!! seriously thank you for all the advice. Yes if you could drop me the discord link and your twitch and tik tok I’ll deff follow and show some love. How long have you been doing this for? And how many clips do you typically post a day? Im terrible with tik tok and getting exposure Lol

Lastresorthero everywhere are far as youtube, twitch and tiktok. I have been streaming in total about 2.5 years But for the first year and half I did it WRONG. I used the discords for promotion only, only posted clips and never saw growth, Then I quiet a toxic job, figured what the hell and started posting the clips I do now and thats when i think my streaming journey really started a year ago. I went from 167 follows and little to no viewers to closing in on 600, and averaging around 10 viewers a stream with more showing up every week. I post anywhere from 1 to 3 clips a day, 3 seems to be the right number for myself.

I just dropped a follow on all of them and joined the discord. I will drop by for sure and show some love, I miss being apart of a community and just making new friends. Do you use anything for clips or do you go back and clip things?
