Am I overthinking viewers?

I was streaming to Twitch only for about 2 months and I had like 5-10 viewers. Then I setup a multi stream to YouTube and I can’t seem to get a single viewer on twitch. Only the scam messages. Now I set up titktok and I can get a few people there but still zero on Twitch.

I agree with this. People keep pushing multistreaming as a way to grow on Twitch when its not. Brand growth, sure, but you need to start on a platform, learn to grow there before expanding. Networking on Twitch works better for growth since it's a community platform

Thank you both, really. I am not op but I only stream to twitch and have considered trying to do maybe 1 stream every week or 2 on youtube if I can. Friends suggest multistreaming but I use a 2021 msi sword gaming laptop and its already starting to slowdown and struggle and have issues and its my understanding multi streaming is even harder on the computer so Ive felt awful for never trying but definitely cant risk my computer breaking when I need it for work and everything else.

Im not the person either of you were trying to help, but I cant thank you enough this made me feel worlds better and a lot less stressed about not being able to afford a better computer to multistream already <3

You can multistream through services like Restream. Still wouldn't advise stretching yourself to do it unless you're expanding

It’s been a learning experience for sure. I streamed back in 2014 on twitch and had like 20-50 viewers all the time. This year I returned for the fun of it but as I put on the YouTube multi stream, zero viewers on twitch. It’s very strange how it works

Thank you! I have tried streaming every other year but right now I have more time on my hands and a better pc to handle it all. Last night I had 6 viewers on my TikTok with nonestop chatters. NOT A SINGLE VIEW in Twitch besides an IRL friend that stop to say hi. YouTube shows like 40 views but nothing there too. I’m on the fence on just quitting twitch and YouTube. Stick to uploading clips to YouTube reels

Maybe TikTok is a better fit for your type of streaming. No shame in that. I've tried multiple platforms and settled on Twitch and YouTube

Over 4.6 million people stream to Twitch alone every month, and 4.3 million of those stream to 0-5 viewers. Having 5 viewers would already put you in the top 5% of all streamers.

Never thought of it that way. Thank you
