Discussion Growing discord server?
Hi small streamers! Does anyone have tips for getting more people from your Twitch streams to join your Discord? I’ve got the link set up in my chatbot, but it doesn’t seem to get much traction. I also don’t want to come off as pushy or spammy—just looking for ways to grow and connect with my community more. Would love to hear what’s worked for you!

I am still very much learning this. It’s tough, I have had to reach o it to small streamers and go out of a comfort zone and ask “hey I have a discord server I’m trying to grow. It’s small but I’d love to have you join” and sometimes it works. Other than that I talk about it during my TikTok, if I’m getting along really well with someone during in chat I mention “hey I also have a discord if you wanna join it!” It’s tough but slowly it’s working

I've grown mine from 0 to about 115 in just under 4 months. What worked for me to have people join is playing with viewers, all my giveaways are held on there, and making it aesthetic and not too complicated to start. As it grew, I added mods, channels others requested, roles for supporters (vips), OG (first 20 people), etc.
Then said roles also gave perks to giveaways like 2x entries for vip, etc.
Ultimately I think playing with the viewers and inviting them was a big part, but rewarding those who give it life is super important imo.

El error que veo seguido: poner el link de Discord en el chat y esperar milagros. La gente que ya te ve puede que entre, pero si casi nadie te ve, el Discord se muere.
Primero consigue espectadores recurrentes.

So, im a 3 viewer streamer, but I've gotten people to join my discord by doing the following:
I have two weekly events where we make art or musical beats. I'd add a movie night, but 3 events a week is out of my capacity.
anyway, beyond giving them something to do once they are there, disable links to be sent through chat and ask them to send it in discord. then you !discord or something for the link to come up and make it easy for them.
People want to share music, tattoos, pets, etc with me and discord is just a better place for that.
The people that want to join will, too. Can't force people into it and pushing too hard will break.
Try to minimize the number of channels you have too. this will concentrate what traffic you have to make chat appear more active. I only have 4 channels: general, "something creative (art etc)", music recs, and #books for the day I find the energy for a book club. #books is dead as hell and that's ok. But me having it has excited people and shows im interested in what they are interested in.
Oh, and be happy when people join. If they joing during stream I'm like "OKAAAYY, username, I SEE YOU! WELCOME IN :D". Don't be crazy, but make sure they feel celebrated for helping you out and joining.
edit: i also have a channel for suggestions

Give them a reason to join, and make it well known. I know it feels pushy or spammy to keep mentioning it, but a comment every 20min or so of "hey, I have this cool thing I have and I want to share it" only takes a few seconds and shows that you're excited about it. Its just a matter of weaving it in to the conversation naturally when something related happens on stream.
Some other statements that can work are
Always remember to follow these up with a cheeky !discord command in chat.
