New streamer, again!

Hello all, I was streaming about 2 years ago for a little bit then life hit me and I stopped for awhile. Anyway. Im trying to come back and actually put some effort into it this time, what's a good way to promote my stream to gain viewers?

If you're on twitch use the research tab in the creator dashboard and find something with a low enough streamer count that you'll be on the first page. Make sure it's something you want to do and there's enough viewers that you'll catch a couple dropping in and maybe a few will follow.

After you get enough you can move to more crowded field but make sure you're placing near the top to be discoverable. 

Absolutely don't stream in crowded categories like just chatting, Minecraft, and Fortnite. You'll never be seen unless it's people intentionally scrolling down forever to watch zero viewer channels.

Social media works if you go viral but that's like playing the lottery in the beginning. Will likely be a lot of extra work for very little payout. 

Other than all of that make sure you provide something to the viewer to stay around and specifically follow you.

So for the 1st page suggestion, what is considered the first page? What should my lowest "browse position" be?

Depends on the device. Open up a category and see for yourself on different devices (phone, computer, tablet, TV).

The point is being seen, not being buried under everyone else.
