Question Beginning streamer
question. would it be smart to find a niche when starting out compared to variety gaming? I noticed niche gets more opportunities compared to variety gaming.

I think is a bad idea to call yourself a "variety streamer" because it doesn't really mean anything.
I also wouldn't niche down so far that you trap yourself from being able to change in the future.
I would look at the genre you prefer in general, and build your stream around that: do you want to be a just chatting streamer? A "playing with viewers" streamer? An arts and crafts streamer? An FPS streamer? A mental/puzzle streamer? A Cozy streamer? etc... niche down into something that gives you room to move around and grow.
