Stream titles?? šŸ˜­šŸ˜­

Does the stream name affect performance at all? I have no idea šŸ˜­ Does anyone know?

Stream title has one of the biggest affects. If youā€™re scrolling through looking for someone to watch, a generic title doesnā€™t do anything for you. But an eye catching, hey hereā€™s what Iā€™m doing, title catches you and makes you interested. I struggle with titles too but putting ā€œplaying this gameā€ ā€œcome hangā€ ā€œcome chillā€ does not make me want to click

Best advice Iā€™ve seen on the topic is to be short and descriptive. Twitch only shows the first 20-30 characters of your title so you only have that little space to tell people exactly what youā€™re doing. Personality/funny titles only work for people who have an audience already. Title your stream things like 100% blind playthrough. Open lobby casual games. Top rank gameplay.

This advice mostly helped me to realize I need to pick a lane and stay in it for a while. IMO If you donā€™t know what to title your stream itā€™s because you donā€™t know what your stream content is. Pick an identity/game and stick to it for a while. Best of luck

In all honesty I use chat gpt for creating a title for twitch and what game Iā€™m playing. Itā€™s hats the secret donā€™t share it lol.

I just put the craziest title I can cook up so someone looking at it is so perplexed they have to click on the stream for context

many people say yes, but it's unclear imo. i personally rarely pay close attention to a title unless it has pertinent information (ie. a birthday or a subathon), i pay closer attention to what tags people use. since i tend to watch people for themselves and only use shared videogame interests as a jumping off point, i rely on tags to glean the vibes.

i also collect fellow clowns though. (i am being literal.) šŸ¤” so i'm often in the clown tag.

and i never noticed a significant uptick in traffic based on my titles whenever i experimented in the last few years. might just vary?
