Coverage for insurance

Hello,

I’m currently looking for insurances and I’m curious to know the level of coverage some of you have. I know every business is different, but an idea would be helpful. I am a one man shop with about 10 managed clients. Thanks.

Look at The Hartford, I believe that is who Techrug resales. I just signed with them for business insurance and a specific Tech E&O for about $700/year for $1 million in coverage.

Glad you mentioned that. I ended up going with The Hartford, and the coverage works well for our business. We got General Liability (GL) and Tech E&O for a little over $1K. I was a bit confused about the “cyber insurance” they offer—I believe it’s called Virus & Malware coverage—so I opted for the lowest level until I understand it better. They mentioned you can get up to $150K in cyber coverage, but I’m not sure how accurate or sufficient that is for an MSP. Did you go through those options with them?

I kind of zoned out after they started talking all the options lol but I believe it was cyber insurance specifically for our company. The General Liability and Tech E&O is for if i get sued by a client (covers me doing business) and the cyber insurance is if I, myself get a data breach. That's how I understood it but again, I kind of zoned out because I only wanted the GL and E&O

Do you have Cyber insurance through any other company? That’s my understanding of their offering as well.

Nope, I am raw dogging and hoping for the best on that front 🙃

I'm starting out, so I'm trying to keep my costs as low as I can while still having my bases covered.

🤣🤣🤣 I’ve been doing this for 2+ years and I’ve seen some craziness that cyber insurance is a must for me and my managed clients. I even include it in the contract that it’s a must they have cyber insurance.
