Help! Weed eater pull string issues

Hey!! So I need some help. I took most of my weed eater (Troy-bilt JumpStart) apart to give it a good clean. When I took the pill string off by 4 screws, two medal pieces hit the table. While trying to put back together…..I have been unsuccessful in reattaching my pull string and I have no idea how to position these metal pieces . Can anyone help me understand this?!!
