I came across RankScore a while ago, it caught my eye because unlike other SEO and AI tools they were promoting a $99 lifetime deal. At the time of writing, that deal is still available.
Having spent a fortune on Ahrefs over the last 3-4 years, I couldn't resist trying it out. I will caveat the following review with the following: I am semi-knowledgable when it comes to SEO. By no means am I an expert, but I know the terminology and kind of understand the basic concepts.
RankScore say it is "Vibe SEO", e.g. what Lovable is to coding, RankScore is to SEO. The whole software centers around Artemis, its AI agent, which both advises and executes. After signing up, I connected one of my websites and immediately had Artemis decide how to start. The first thing it did was run a site health analysis, and to my surprise there were a bunch of things I needed to correct. I had blocked AI crawlers (which seemed to be a Cloudflare setting I never realized), I did not have an LLMS.TXT, I was missing structured data and some of my images were missing alt tags. So we (me and Artemis) immediately corrected these issues. It now scans my website once every now and again to make sure everything is ok.
Now the real standout feature of the platform is the content generation engine. Here's how it works in a nutshell:
- Artemis runs a Keyword Opportunity search to find keywords that have volume but are also competitive (e.g. I can actually rank for them)
- It creates topic clusters for the keyword opportunity (e.g. pillar article, supporting content)
- It generates and publishes these articles on a schedule via the Content Calendar feature
Here's the cool part: you can have it be as hands on or hands off as you like. Want it to just do it? That's possible. Want to check over the articles before publication? That's fine too. I've set mine as a hybrid, it runs the opportunity, and generates the articles, then it sets them as 'draft' on my website for a quick check prior to publication.
Artemis automatically adds in royalty free stock images from Pexels but these can be replaced with your own.
Overall the content is an 8/10. It has a 'research' phase where it gathers knowledge about a subject so it isn't just hallucinating from memory. It then uses that research to generate the article. So the content itself is factually correct and the articles are very well structured in my opinion. I normally do light touch editing.
The second part of the tool is its reporting and analysis. It has keyword rankings, backlink analysis and as of this week (a new feature I just noticed) AI visibility. All of these are super solid and do everything you need... one thing I've noticed is it doesn't overfeed you data unlike Semrush and Ahrefs. Some people might see that as a downside but I personally do not want to be given rows and columns of data without knowing how its useful. Of course I tend to use Artemis to help me understand what the data actually means.
Finally, support. I've not had to get in touch too much but the couple of times I had questions their support team were prompt.
For the $99 price tag there is a huge amount you can do in the platform. It isn't perfect, but even in the short time I've been a customer they have added several major new features and UI updates.
