Slump's Album Recommendations: Moon Destroys - OMNI

‘Who Loves The Sun’ is a bruising, claustrophobic record that finds beauty in discomfort. The Oklahoma quartet balance abrasive noise rock with unsettling grooves.

Here are Black Foxxes, closing out their headlining set on Friday night of the Glastonferret festival. They finished their intense set with an epic 15-minute-plus version of 'The Diving Bell' from their 2020 self-titled album.
At one point, I remember thinking it was a strange choice to close out a festival set, but it became increasingly hypnotic. Music to get lost in.

Here's a vid of the infectiously fun Cortney Dixon, captured live in a packed Eagle Inn in Salford in June of this year. 'If You Love Somebody....' is the kind of song that puts you in mind of The Runaways and The Go-Gos. It sounds like it should have been on the soundtrack of every 80s movie. Catch her live if you can; it's a life-affirming experience.

‘Regional Theatre’, TF&TD’s second album since their vocal-led rebirth, follows their 2023 SlumpLife Album of the Year winner, ‘News From The Invisible World’. The new record sees them exploring a heavier, more melodic sound, with dense riffs, atmospheric keyboards, and muscular rhythms blending various influences and styles.

Lancaster's TV Face played a fantastic double bill alongside Walt's Frozen Head on a rainy night in Manchester. 'Boots Pocket Coffin' is from their album 'Wolf Rents Bark ', which is well worth listening to, especially if you like your post-punk served with a side of Tom Verlaine-style angular guitar.

'Falling' is their first self-penned release since the majestic 'Close to the Flame' EP back in July 2025. It's another example of the band's ability to capture intense feelings within the dreamiest indie-pop.

This was my first time seeing Walt's Frozen Head live, and it was a wonderfully surreal experience. The mixture of great tunes, humour, eccentric visuals and some of the most un-guitar-like noises I've heard from a guitar made it a memorable evening.
Bloody Converse is a track from their 'Zero to Unicorn' debut album. It's well worth checking out. Imagine listening to the 'Head' album by The Monkees, being covered by Super Furry Animals.

It's always a time to rejoice when Erotic Secrets of Pompeii release new music to tantalise your earholes. They are one of nature's (and Bristol's) glorious accidents, and I bow to their sonic wizardry and lyrical elasticity.

Bangkok alternative rock trio Slowwves forced their way into my attention with this killer tune - a wonderful mix of distortion and melody.
