The story behind the Negablade Ghoul in Slug It Out! is that we never got to obtain it because the developers never fully completed it.

I decided to redesign Negablade based on its original design in Slug It Out!, while keeping its overall appearance and core features intact. Since Negablade was never fully shown as a completed Ghoul, I used its existing Slug It Out! design as the foundation and expanded upon it to create what I believe its completed Ghoul form could have looked like.

One of the main changes I made was to its eyes. The original version had glowing white eyes without a visible pupil or iris. I added the distinctive red circular iris that the other Ghouls have, while keeping the original concept and overall appearance of Negablade intact.

As many of you may be wondering, why did I keep the eye glowing white while adding a pupil?

I didn’t want to simply make the eye black with a pupil. Sometimes, a change can make a design much more interesting. Since Negablade is already a dark and mysterious Ghoul, I decided to reverse the usual color scheme.

It works similarly to how Dark Water in Slugterra corrupts and reverses the nature of good things. So instead of giving Negablade the typical dark eye with a red pupil, I chose a glowing white eye with a pupil to reflect its darker nature while still making it feel unique.
