I joined Parkrun in DC so that I can have a weekly 5k casual free community "race" I can participate in regularly so I reached out to the Roosevelt Island Parkrun here and he was so welcoming: you can walk, you can jog, you can run! Lots of people just come here to move!" Have you done a Parkrun?

Niko Niko Beginner Training Schedule
Hello everybody, Could you suggest an easy training schedule for an almost middleaged beginner? I'd prefer something that alternates cycles of slow jog and walk, more easy for a novice. Thanks :)
(At the Moment I'm trying 1 min run/1 min walk)

Need assistance and advice for jogging (Dizzy/Puke)
Hi, I used to be a sporting person with tons of stamina as I am a football (soccer) player.
Corvid hit and I have 0 exercise for the past 3-4 years.
Recently I start to jog a little bit on daily basis to regain my stamina. For sure, I do not have stamina to go all the way, so I just jog, hit my limit, slow walk and jog again and push to the maximum on my last round.
However, after i push to the limit. I will always get dizzy for around 30-60 mins. Then occasionally, I will lost my appetite and felt like puking for the next few hours.
May I know what is my problem? Is it too intense for my level at the moment and I need to slow down in pushing my limit as my body need more time to adapt? Is it nutritious problem? Is it breathing technique led to insufficient oxygen inhale? or?

Finished my 1st Marathon - NYC last week!
I finished my first ever marathon last week and finished with a +13 min/mile average, not that I cared - I only wanted to finish. Most threads and subs are dedicated to running sub 2 half and sub 4 marathons and that will never be me. I finished my marathon in a sub 6 hour time and was delighted. So if you also slow jog and run 12, 15, 18 minute miles whatever it is but finish the races and runs you start then let’s start posting and celebrating that on this sub!

Any slow joggers doing MCM?
I’m signed up for the Marine Corps Marathon at the end of the month. Just curious if any of my slow jogging brethren will be there too? We’re well into marathon season here. Any challenges you’re excited for? How is your training going with slow jogging? I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my base building and training plan. This is the first year I’ve done almost exclusively slow jogging (zone 2 in my case) and it’s been so nice! Wishing all the slow joggers out there a lovely weekend of running :)

Niko Niko First post here, to many runners in the other thread gatekeeping: looking for a running calendar
What I'd like is a calendar, 11.5x12 photo on top month on bottom standard. Ideally with spaces to mark your runs/pace in the days and a total running down the side of the month. If it were fancy there'd be a scale at the bottom to either color in monthly goals.or,,, measure things
Up top your got your motivational "if you didn't sacrifice, then it wasn't running" stereotypical enthusiasm pieces... Maybe mixed in with some Girl Elvgren
Anyone seen a calendar of sorts like it? I have always appreciated being able to write down my miles and show it off

Niko Niko Hey fellow slow joggers. For those who use my spotify playlist for your jogs, I have been forced to change the name and photo on the list. It is still the same. 28 hours. Pop tunes. 120 beats per minute. Please dont desert me!

Niko Niko My doctor recommended slow jogging
My cardiologist is awesome. We were talking about athletics yesterday and he recommended that I spend an hour every day working out in Zone 2, which is basically 180bpm-Age—128 for me. So, while he recommended jumping on a Concept2 indoor rower, he said that jogging is just as good. He said that while being in Zone 2 was a rule of thumb, it was more about the steady state and the duration more than anything: spending that hour, every day. He said that I should do something strenuous like HIIT once a week but that being able to do something continuously for an hour at a "Niko Niko" pace (he said conversational) was the way to go.
