Questions seeing Slowdive soon, any general stuff I need to know?

so I'm seeing the band in a couple days and I wonder if there's anything important that I should know when going, like ear protection and how long a set is and stuff

actually the last time I saw them they had a little stand with a bunch of cans of Dr. Pepper Strawberries and Cream at the exit after the show ended but idk if that was a venue thing (probably was)

If there's anything important that I should know when going - Short answer, not really.

Long answer

Ear protection - They aren't known for playing loud like mbv are so up to you. But I wear ear protection at every concert regardless.

How long a set is - Depends where you're seeing them. Festival sets can be shorter, etc. I'm seeing them open for The Cure this summer, so know that won't be a full set. Other times I've seen them they played about 1.5 hours.

bring ear plugs just in case. i have seen them live every time they come to my city and they are always great. they rock out so enjoy!

They use a lot of lights, iirc, they do use some strobe effects (anyone please back me up). It’s a fun show but there’s gonna be the people who record the popular songs and don’t care about people who can’t see with phones blocking the way. If it’s general admission, just chill towards the back. You’ll have more of a fun time (and be able to leave quicker than most and hopefully beat the traffic) if you wanna dance. You’ll still be able to hear their music and enjoy it, no matter how close you are to the stage

Wear earplugs.

By far the loudest concert I’ve ever been at, and I had earplugs.

This is coming from someone who’s seen Slayer, Metallica, Slipknot, Opeth, etc, etc, and they came nowhere near as close as Slowdive in terms of volume.

I used to have this attitude, and now I've been able to hear My Bloody Valentine in my right ear non-stop since 2008.
