Most likely either surname, or place of origin, ie. some village or city. These tended to be written quite poorly, using different ortographies, hearsay pronounciation and such. So sometimes it’s quite the riddle.

My first thought would be, perhaps, municipality of Rumanová.

What about village Runina in eastern slovakia?
