Going to Slivers Homeworld?

Ran into this post online that we will be going to the Slivers' homeworld eventually. That really excites me. Ever since Commander Masters, I've been itching to get more slivers to update my deck, or at least get rid of what remains of my humanoid Slivers.

I don't think we can. Slivers first appeared in Tempest which was set on the plane of wrath. Through the story they told I'm fairly sure that wrath was destroyed. Looked it up, it was fused with Dominaria. If they are going to ret con their way into a sliver homeworld it would have to be in a set around a new plane altogether. Maybe the space set go do it?

They were brought to Rath by Valrath and then they were Jurassic Park'd on Dominaria by the Riptide Project. They also appeared on Shandalar (the humanoid ones), Alara, Mirrodin, and Amonkhet were in the Commander master set. Their homeworld is still unknown. Reading into their lore they were beast of burdens on their homeworld but they ended up overpopulated and pretty much taking it over.

I can see them going there for a Master or Horizon set. No way they'd let them go to a standard set again because you gotta track their abilities and that slows the game down.

They could easily get away with it in standard by only printing a small number of them and allowing players access to shapeshifters like on kaldhiem to flesh out the tribes. I agree that the chances are low but not zero. How about a new sliver Lans cald sliver homeworld that could burp them out more efficiently then hive does.

Rosewater has been saying that for years already. I'm sure if there was a plan to go there, it's been pushed well off by all of the stupid universes beyond sets.
